FINNEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a kidnapping, vehicle theft and continue to search for a suspect.
Just after 5 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to 4101 E Highway 50 Lot 379 in reference to a missing vehicle and child inside, according to Lt. Jason Chase.
Through the initial investigation it was determined that a 14-month-old Sebastian Bautist was inside a 2011 White Chevy Tahoe that was stolen from the driveway of the residence.
An immediate response to locate the vehicle and boy was conducted with the assistance of the Finney County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol and Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
The child and vehicle were found in the area of 4200 Block of Nancy in Garden City when an individual observed a vehicle matching the description from the Amber Alert. The boy was not injured. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact police.
