CHAUTAUQUA —One person died in an accident just before 7:30a.m. Wednesday in Chautauqua County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Chevy Impala driven by Grace N. Prince, 15, Sedan, was eastbound on U.S. 166 approximately four miles west of Kansas 99.
The car crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2023 Dodge Charger driven by Charles R. Hockett, 38, Mundelein, Illinois.
After impact Hockett lost control of the Charger. An eastbound 2019 Kia Soul driven by Pamela J. Long, 54, Niotaze, Kansas, struck the Charger.
Long was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. Two juveniles were present in the Kia; juvenile record protected data, according to the KHP.
EMS transported Prince and Hockett to Sedan City Hospital. Long was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
