Chamber celebrates Camp Aldrich and rebuild of Trails End Lodge

Posted Oct 15, 2021 5:00 PM

The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassador’s Club hosted a Ribbon Cutting at Camp Aldrich, which is operated by Barton Community College. Camp Aldrich is located two miles north of Highway 156 between Claflin, Kansas, and the Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area. The ribbon cutting ceremony commemorates the completion of the new Trails End Lodge, which was destroyed by a fire in August of 2018. The new and expanded facility was completed in the fall of 2020 but Barton waited until vaccines were widely available before hosting the event.

Camp Aldrich hosts many weddings, dinner events, and camps throughout the year and also features a newly rebuilt Dining and Events Center. Trails End Lodge is open year-round. The cost is $180 per night per pod, each of which has a sleeping capacity of 48. Restroom/shower facilities are available in each pod as well as air conditioning and heat.
