The control cabinet, or electrical box, at the 24th Street and Main Street intersection in Great Bend is expected to be installed Wednesday, June 3. Motorists can expect the stop lights to function again shortly after the installation.

A car chase that occurred on May 18 resulted in the suspect crashing into the electrical box at the intersection, causing the lights to go out. A four-way stop has been in place at the intersection since the crash.

Christopher Chappell was arrested along the northwest fence line of the Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo shortly after fleeing on foot following the crash.
