On March 31, Eagle Communications announced their partnership with United Way of Central Kansas to raise funds for non-profits in Barton County who are providing services during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In just over one month, $8,000 was donated by individuals and businesses and the Robert E & Patricia A Schmidt Foundation matched those donations with a gift of $5,000.

United Way of Central Kansas Community Partners were then asked to request monies from this fund for direct service needs for community members. Staff from Eagle Communications were recruited to review the applications and determine the amount that would go to each requesting agency. Agencies that will be receiving funding include: Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas, ElderCare, Inc, Family Crisis Center, Great Bend Children’s Learning Center, Hoisington Food Bank, and RSVP/Volunteers in Action. United Way of Central Kansas will also be a recipient of a portion of the funding to provide Hand Sanitizer Stations throughout Barton & Pawnee Counties.

“We look at ourselves as conveners…..bringing people and resources into partnerships for the communities we serve. Sharing our own resources to make the most impact is what our mission is all about. It is a great day when you get to share great sharing.”
