Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and Response Coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force Dr. Debra Birx also attended the meeting.
Trump said both governors have done "a fantastic job.”
"I know Laura will speak her mind and so will some of the others and if she was unhappy she'd be letting you know it," the President said.
"We've done a really great job. We've gotten along great with the democrat governors."
Before leaving Topeka, Kelly said the President understands that state and local governments need assistance well beyond stimulus three, the Cares Act, that will allow states to pay the bills for COVID-19 but will not allow states to cover any of the revenue losses that both the state government and local entities are experiencing.
Kelly is expected to share more about her visit with the President during her Thursday afternoon press conference.
