Kansas City mayor issues stay-at-home order

Kansas City, Missouri Mayor Quinton Lucas  issued a “Stay at Home” Order Saturday. It requires Kansas City residents to stay at home except for essential activities as the community continues working to slow the spread of #COVID19.

Grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, and healthcare facilities will remain open. This order will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, March 24.

"Additionally, with the support of superintendents from all 14 school districts and other education leaders that educate Kansas City students, I have updated my existing State of Emergency order to extend school closures in the Missouri-side of the metropolitan area through Friday, April 24. Daycares and early childhood programs remain exempt from this order," wrote Lucas.
