Coronavirus: Sedgwick County bans public gatherings over 250 people

WICHITA —Sedgwick County officials announced recommendations related to public gatherings in light of the COVID-19 pandemic during a news conference Friday morning in Wichita.

"Until further notice, there is a ban on public gatherings of more than 250 attendees in Sedgwick County," said Local Health Officer Garold Minns, M.D. 

"Under state statute, the local health officer has the authority to cancel public events when there is a broad public health concern."
