USD 428 in Great Bend is hopeful that a school bond issue will pass April 28 that will in part allow space to be freed up to place preschool at all five elementary schools. While the district awaits the outcome of the election, they are still seeing a popular preschool setup at Riley Elementary School.

Principal Beth Rein mentioned even the three-year-old preschool filled up quickly.

"We know of several preschool-aged kids, but those mothers just are not ready to let go yet," joked Rein. "They loosen up for the four-year-olds, but the three-year-olds are little tougher. With that said, the three-year-old section was one of the first to fill up."

Riley hosts one section of preschool for three-year-olds that currently has 15 students. The four-year-old preschool at Riley has 42 students that are divided into three sections.

Riley will hold a preschool and kindergarten roundup April 14 for Riley district families, and then open it up to the rest of the district.
