The Latest: 35-year-old Kansas man dies after shot in his home

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that led to the death and have released the identity of the victim.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting call at a home in the 1700 block of South Glenn in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson. 

Upon arrival, officers contacted a 45-year-old woman who reported arriving at friends home and finding 35-year-old James Winston unresponsive.  Winston  had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital where he died, according to Davidson. 

Police do not believed this to be a random incident. They have not reported an arrest or additional details.

Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances of what occurred.  This is not believed to be a random incident, according to Davidson.
