St. Johns Episcopal Church invites the public to Annual Pancake Supper Tuesday, February 25th

St. Johns Episcopal Church will kick off the Lenten season with its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb 25th, at the church, located at 17th and Adams Street in Great Bend.  Deacon George Martin's famous pancakes along with sausage and a drink is the menu.  There is no charge for the meal; however, a freewill offering would be appreciated.

You might be asking, "What is Shrove Tuesday?" Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake Tuesday or Pancake Day) is the day in February or March immediately preceding Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent, which this year is on Wednesday Feb. 26th), which is celebrated in some countries by consuming pancakes. In others, especially those where it is called Mardi Gras or some translation thereof, this is a carnival day, and also the last day of "fat eating" or "gorging" before the fasting period of Lent.

So, please join your friends and come to the St. Johns Episcopal Church Pancake Supper on Tues. Feb. 25th from 5-7pm.
