Please save the date for the 98th Annual Meeting & Banquet for the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce. The evening will include a cocktail & social hour, catered dinner, live music and the special recognition of our community award winners. Deadline to reserve seats is Monday, February 10th, 2020.

Free blood pressure checks at the library administered by the Barton County Health Department every Thursday in February from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Genealogy "Land Ho!" Presentation: Saturday, Feb. 8, 1 p.m.

The first in our monthly Genealogy Presentation series, Jill Frese from Manhattan answers questions about land purchases, sales, measurements, titles, etc. For adults.

Anti-Valentine's Fun & Movie: Saturday, Feb. 8, 2 p.m.

Trying to get away from candy hearts and red roses? Join us for some heartbreaking games, snacks, and a movie! For teens grades 6-12

Code Club Kickoff: Monday, Feb. 10, 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Kids develop important tech skills and have fun as they learn to make websites, video games, apps, animations, and more! For children and teens grades 3-12.

Annual Cupcake Wars: Tuesday, Feb. 11, 6 p.m.

Compete in various cupcake-decorating challenges to see who is the master of frosting! Supplies limited; first come, first served. For teens grades 6-12.

Teen Anime & Manga Club: Thursday, Feb. 13, 5:30 p.m.

Explore Japanese visual culture by watching anime, discussing manga, and doing a fun activity! For ages 13-18.

Beekeeping 101: Saturday, Feb. 15, 1 p.m.

Jim Kellie, past president of the Kansas Honey Producers Association and current owner of Kellie Honey Farm in Larned, Kansas, walks through the basics of beekeeping. For all ages.

Carrie Chapman Catt & Women's Suffrage: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2 p.m.

A 45-minute presentation about Carrie Chapman Catt, protégé of Susan B. Anthony and president of the National American Women's Suffrage Association in 1900. Followed by a Q&A and discussion time. For all ages.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover: Friday, Feb. 20, 4 p.m. to Saturday, Feb. 21, 10:30 a.m.

Bring your stuffed animal (NOT your "must-have-to-sleep" one) to story time on Friday at 4 p.m. Come back to pick them up at a breakfast story time on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The librarians will take good care of your stuffed animals and will take pictures of their sleepover adventures to share with you at breakfast! For children.
