Free blood pressure checks at the library administered by the Barton County Health Department every Thursday in February from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Genealogy "Land Ho!" Presentation: Saturday, Feb. 8, 1 p.m.

The first in our monthly Genealogy Presentation series, Jill Frese from Manhattan answers questions about land purchases, sales, measurements, titles, etc. For adults.

Anti-Valentine's Fun & Movie: Saturday, Feb. 8, 2 p.m.

Trying to get away from candy hearts and red roses? Join us for some heartbreaking games, snacks, and a movie! For teens grades 6-12

Code Club Kickoff: Monday, Feb. 10, 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Kids develop important tech skills and have fun as they learn to make websites, video games, apps, animations, and more! For children and teens grades 3-12.

Annual Cupcake Wars: Tuesday, Feb. 11, 6 p.m.

Compete in various cupcake-decorating challenges to see who is the master of frosting! Supplies limited; first come, first served. For teens grades 6-12.

Teen Anime & Manga Club: Thursday, Feb. 13, 5:30 p.m.

Explore Japanese visual culture by watching anime, discussing manga, and doing a fun activity! For ages 13-18.

Beekeeping 101: Saturday, Feb. 15, 1 p.m.

Jim Kellie, past president of the Kansas Honey Producers Association and current owner of Kellie Honey Farm in Larned, Kansas, walks through the basics of beekeeping. For all ages.

Carrie Chapman Catt & Women's Suffrage: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2 p.m.

A 45-minute presentation about Carrie Chapman Catt, protégé of Susan B. Anthony and president of the National American Women's Suffrage Association in 1900. Followed by a Q&A and discussion time. For all ages.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover: Friday, Feb. 20, 4 p.m. to Saturday, Feb. 21, 10:30 a.m.

Bring your stuffed animal (NOT your "must-have-to-sleep" one) to story time on Friday at 4 p.m. Come back to pick them up at a breakfast story time on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The librarians will take good care of your stuffed animals and will take pictures of their sleepover adventures to share with you at breakfast! For children.

1 - I Heart GB Promotion

Location: Downtown Great Bend, Participating Stores

Details: Sign up at participating stores to win an I ♥ GB package to show your love in February. Each week a winner will be chosen for smaller prizes and the Grand Prize Winner drawn on February 24th.

22 – Flat Track Races

Time: Gates open at 2:00 PM, Practice at 3:00 PM, Races at 6:00 PM

Location: Expo III Arena at Great Bend Expo Complex

Details: Indoor flat track motorcycle and cart races. Admission $10, PIT Passes $15, Free 6 and under

22 - Chamber of Commerce Banquet

Time: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Location: Great Bend Events Center, 3111 10th St

Details: Great Bend’s annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet, which includes cocktail, social hour, and a catered dinner.

29 – Sunflower Diversified Services Gala

Time: 5:30-10:00 PM

Location: Great Bend Events Center, 3111 10th St

Details: Sunflower Diversified Service’s Charity Gala brings the community together in support of children and adults with developmental disabilities. Dinner, games, and a live auction will bring the night to life at this gala. Tickets $100 per person and available by calling Connie Oetken at 620-792-1325.

5 – Kiwanis Pancake Feed

Time: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: Great Bend Expo 1

Details: Annual pancake feed with proceeds going to serving children and members of our community.

Details: The Eagle Radio Annual Home and Garden Show – presented by Comfort Pro – offers visitors the chance to view products and services by 50 vendors. Free admission and parking.

21 – Young Professionals Casino Night

Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Location: Expo I Building at Great Bend Expo Complex

Details: Barton County Young Professionals members are invited on Saturday, March 10th to the Expo I building. Casino Night is proudly sponsored by Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, the area's largest public accounting firm. Tickets are $25 per person for general admission dinner tickets, or companies can reserve corporate sponsored tables with program recognition for $300 (table of eight). Corporate tables will receive VIP treatment and extra perks!!

27 – Family Crisis Center’s Bunco Night

Location: Great Bend Expo Complex

Details: The 2020 Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo promotes state-of-the-art agricultural technology! With more than 700 booths inside and outside the complex, this is one of the largest farm shows in the United States. Sponsored by KSN, the Great Bend Co-op, and the American Hat Company Inc. 11 – Stores Pay the Tax Sale

24- Catholic Charities Wine Tasting Event

Details: Go Explore Great Bend! People travel store-to-store to answer fun facts, receive stickers and win gift certificates to participating stores. This is part of the June Jaunt Jumbo Games!

5-6 – June Jaunt Festival

Location: Jack Kilby Square

Details: Great Bend kicks off summer with the June Jaunt Festival. This event, annually the first weekend in June, brings several activities, live music, vendors, and games to Jack Kilby Square in downtown Great Bend. A family-friendly event for kids and adults to enjoy.

5-6 – Golden Belt Humane Society Garage Sale

Details: The Rosewood Ranch is a facility nationally renowned for helping people with developmental disabilities meet their goals in life. Every first Saturday of October, the ranch hosts a rodeo which allows visitors a glimpse at the horse therapy program Rosewood is famous for. Free hot dogs, chips, sundaes, and drinks attract many, along with horses.

28 – Home for the Holidays Festival & Parade

Location: Main Street and Jack Kilby Square

Details: The Home for the Holidays festival starts in the stores with the annual cookie contest, Small Business Saturday and shopping! The day ends with a lighted parade, the lighting of the Mayors Tree, horse drawn rides, free hot dogs, funnel cakes and hot coco, ice skating and a family drive through our Trail of Lights.

1 – Hometown Rewards Starts

Details: Shop Great Bend! Every December, shoppers are encouraged to check out local shops in town and earn rewards. For each $20 spent, they will receive a sticker (up to 5 per visit), which they can turn in to win 1 of 5 $100 gift cards.
