Two arrested on drug charges following tip from CKCC

On Friday, Jan. 17 at approximately 3:07 p.m., Great Bend Police Department officers responded to 5840 Cherry Place Apt. D in reference to assisting Central Kansas Community Corrections with a narcotics offense.

Upon Officers arrival they were advised of illegal drugs located inside the residence by Community Corrections personnel. Officers observed some illegal drugs and paraphernalia inside the residence.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence. Methamphetamine, marijuana and other items were located inside the residence. Jordan Trevino and Erika Helms were both arrested at the residence.

Helms is charged with distribution of methamphetamine within a thousand feet of a school, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Helms was also charged with introduction of contraband into a correctional facility after narcotics were located on her person when she was being booked into the jail.

Trevino is charged with distribution of methamphetamine within a thousand feet of a school, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon.
