Salina woman dead after pickup strikes power pole, rolls

SALINE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 12:30a.m. Wednesday in Saline County.

A 2004 Ford F 150 driven by Deanna Pargman, 60, Salina,  was northbound in the 900 block of North Ohio Street and traveling over the viaduct, according to Police Captain Paul Forrester.

The pickup traveled left of center and struck the west curb line. Pargman lost control of the pickup. It traveled back across to the east side of the street, struck a power pole, rolled, and came to rest on the driver's side.

Pargman was trapped in the vehicle, had fatal injuries, according to Forrester.

EMS transported a passenger identified as Matthew Upshaw, 21, Salina, to Salina Regional Health Center. 

The pickup was totaled and towed from the scene, according to Forrester.
