The City of Great Bend would like to announce they will be burning their biggest tree pile at the compost site this week. Work plans to start Wednesday, December 6 and could last up until Friday, December 8th and staff will be monitoring the pile over the weekend. Of course, dates could change again based on weather and wind.
Street Superintendent James Giles stated, “I want the public to know that there will be significant smoke, and if the wind is blowing towards town, people will notice.” The pile will be manned by city staff 24 hours a day and it will be monitored until it is done.
The City of Great Bend appreciates the patience of the public while this work is being performed. Please contact James Giles, Superintendent at 620.793.4150 regarding this project.
