SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man is going to prison for a DUI crash that killed his 9-year-old son.

On Feb. 13, a judge sentenced 29-year-old Devin Saucedo to 24 months in prison and ordered him to pay restitution of $9,679.86 to the Kansas Department of Transportation, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

In March of 2022,  police responded to report of a three-car  injury accident on eastbound Kellogg at Seneca, according to officer Trevor Macy.

Investigators learned a 2007  Ford Focus driven by Saucedo was eastbound on Kellogg and side swiped a 2017 Ford F-150, causing the truck to collide with a 2004 Dodge Ram.

Saucedo lost control of the car. It struck a bridge abutment and his 9-year-old son Armani  Saucedo was ejected. The boy was pronounced dead at the the scene, according to Macy. EMS transported his father to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Saucedo previously pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence, according to the district attorney's office.
