Police investigate fatal Kansas vehicle, pedestrian accident

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision that fatally injured a 57-year-old man from Wichita.

Just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday officers were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Lincoln and Sylvan Street in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.

First responders located the victim unconscious and not breathing. EMS pronounced him deceased on the scene.

The investigation revealed the man was walking eastbound on the south side of Lincoln in the roadway when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 32-year-old man from Andover.

Neither speed nor impairment are believed to be contributing factors to the collision.
