KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a homicides that occurred in Kansas City early Christmas Eve and have identified the victim as 55-year-old Elvis Danner, according to KCPD Sergeant Jacob Becchina.
Just after midnight Sunday, police were dispatched to a shooting at 1st Street and Holmes in Kansas City, according to Police Captain Corey Carlisle.
Officers conducted an area canvassing in the wooded area of an unhoused camp and located Danner suffering from unknown bodily trauma.
EMS arrived on scene and subsequently pronounced him deceased. It was later discovered by the medical examiner on scene, the victim suffered from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police have not reported an arrest or additional details.
