KCPD: Man dies after shooting in wooded area

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City.

Just before 8p.m. Friday, police reported to report of a shooting a wooded near 22nd and 71 Highway, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte'.

First responders located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.

Police are investigating this incident as a homicide. Detectives canvassed the area for witnesses, evidence and surveillance footage to determine what led up to this shooting.

If anyone has any information, KCPD is asking that they contact homicide detectives at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS. The reward is up to $25,000 for any information submitted.
