The Barton Community College track and field programs each placed runner-up this past weekend at the KJCCC/Region VI Indoor Championships held at Pittsburg State University's Robert W. Plaster Center.

The Barton women captured six individual championships amongst their eighteen scoring performances while the men won three crowns, scoring in seventeen events. The Cougars also brought home some extra hardware as second year assistant coach Trent Edgerton was named the Men's Assistant Coach of the Meet and Ana da Silva earning the Female Field Athlete of the Meet.

Both teams finished runner-up to Cloud County Community College as the women's 113 total was seventy points shy of the T-birds while the men compiled 120 points in falling fifty-nine points behind in the race. The women accumulated 18 more points than third placers Fort Scott Community College and Butler Community College with the men having a twenty-seven point cushion over third place Cowley College.

Barton returns to Pittsburg on March 5-6 for the indoor season finale in the two-day NJCAA Indoor Championships.
