COWLEY COUNTY— A 16-year-old boy is recovering from a head injury that occurred Monday night after a fall from a moving truck at Winfield City Lake.
Just after 11p.m. first responders were called to the north road of the lake following the report of a local teen sustaining a head injury in the fall, according to a media release. EMS transported the teen to a Wichita hospital.
An investigation determined that the boy fell from the back of a moving vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Winfield woman. The boy's head struck the roadway, causing him to lose consciousness, according to police.
The incident remains under investigation. The case will be forwarded to the Cowley County Attorney's Office for possible charges.
