KHP: Distracted driving led to crash with Kansas school bus

CHEROKEE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 7:30a.m. January 25, in Cherokee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Chevy Silverado driven by Corey Scott Hunter, 51, Firestone, Colorado, was eastbound on U.S. 400 at the Kansas 7 Junction.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign intersection struck a USD  493 Columbus, Kansas Chevy Express driven by Leonard Eugene Mosler, 78, Columbus. EMS transported 51-year-old Michelle Robinson of Columbus to Via Christi for treatment of serious injuries. She is a Special Ed Bus Para, according to the USD 493 web site.  Hunter and Mosler were not injured.

Six juveniles were present in the vehicle, juvenile records are protected data.
