On Friday, school district officials notified the Ulysses police department of a staff member in possession of a gun at Kepley Middle School, 113 N Colorado Street in Ulysses, according to Police Chief Ron Vagher.
Police responded to the school and worked with the cooperation of USD 214 officials to identify, interview and take a person of interest into custody. Police also recovered a firearm.
