Suspect charged after alleged Kansas road-rage shooting

JOHNSON COUNTY - A Kansas man, identified as 25-year-old Hunter Rahto, is facing attempted murder charges  following an alleged road rage shooting Feb. 20, near Shawnee Mission Parkway and Interstate 35, according to court records.

Just after 8a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a reported road rage incident in the area of College Blvd. and Cody Street in Overland, according to Officer John Lacy.

The victim reported the original road rage incident took place at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Interstate 35 Highway. The victim reported the road rage incident to dispatch and followed the suspect vehicle. At College Blvd. and Nieman the male suspect later identified as Rahto fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle, according to police.

Rahto then sped off and ultimately crashed at College Blvd. and Cody Street. Police took Rahto into custody. There were no injuries.

Rahto is no longer in custody after meeting the conditions of his bond. He is due back  in court Feb. 29.
