Police ID victim in Father's Day homicide in Kansas

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal shooting in Topeka have identified the victim as 30-year-old Anthony Marshall III of Topeka, according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks.

Just before 11:30p..m. Sunday police responded to 4100 Block of Southwest of Twilight in Topeka, according to Lt. Stanley.

First responders found Marshall III with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting was one of several in Topeka over the holiday weekend.  Just after 10p.m. Sunday police responded to report of a disturbance in the 3100 Block of SW Clay in Topeka, according to Stanley. First responders found a shooting victim who was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Just after 1:30.a.m. on Monday, police responded to the 1300 Block  of Western Avenue in Topeka on reports of multiple gunshots in the area.

Officers found one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Stanley.  

Police have released no additional details including information on a suspect in the homicide.
