RENO COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in Reno County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Geo Metro driven by Barbara Sue Wiegand, 67, of South Hutchinson was making a left turn from Eastbound Kansas 96 onto Arlington Road. The driver failed to yield.
A westbound 2016 Ford F350 driven by Brayan Antonio Jimenez Matute, 21, Parkville, Maryland, struck the car in the passenger side door.
Weigand was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Elliott Mortuary. Jimenez Matute and two passengers from Mexico were not injured. Weigand was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
