SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a man's murder and continue asking the public for help to locate a woman as part of the investigation.
Just after 10:30 p.m. September 25, police responded to report of a shooting in the 2200 Block SW Plass Avenue in Topeka, according to a media release. First responders found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries considered to be life threatening.
On September 27, the victim identified as 39-year-old Durant R. Redmond of Topeka died of his injuries in the hospital.
Police are working to locate 31-year-old Chelsee A. Baugh (Retana) Topeka. Investigators believe she has information about the shooting and they would like to speak to her.
