KANSAS CITY —One person died in an accident just after 6a.m. Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri.&nbsp; According to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina, a semi was northbound on Interstate 435 from Eastwood Trafficway. 

The driver was weaving between two lanes of traffic and drove directly into a concrete overhead sign support pole. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

This marks fatality #39 compared to #42 at the same time in 2025, according to Becchina. The accident remains under investigation.

KCPD: Driver killed after crash into concrete sign support pole
