SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a shooting that occurred in Wichita's Old Town on October 29, have a suspect in custody.
Just before 11:30a.m. Tuesday, police located the 21-year-old suspect and attempted to stop him during a traffic stop. The suspect refused to stop, and a traffic pursuit ensued, which led to the suspect colliding with another vehicle on the road.
The suspect then fled on foot and was ultimately taken into custody by Wichita Police Officers.
The other driver involved in the crash received minor injuries and did not need immediate medical attention, according to Gupilan.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the vehicle collision, to ensure transparency. Police will released the name of the suspect after the charges are filed in the case.
