SHAWNEE COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just after 7:30p.m. Saturday in Shawnee County.
An ATV driven by 44-year-old Blake C. Asher of Topeka was southbound in the 7900 block of NW 86th Street, according to Deputy Abigail Christian. The ATV left the roadway. Moments later, a friend found Asher unresponsive near the ATV and summoned help from a passerby who called 911.
The friend and later deputies attempted CPR. Fire and medical personnel arrived and continued lifesaving measures. Asher was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, according to Christian.
The accident remains under investigation.
