Police: Kansas armed robbery suspect dies from critical injuries

JOHNSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an armed robbery that left a suspect dead.

Just after 11a.m. Sunday, police were notified of a rolling disturbance with shots fired from a truck along Kansas 7, according to Shawnee, Kansas Police.

Subsequently, Shawnee police responded to a robbery in progress call at a QuikTrip in the 20600 block of Shawnee Mission Parkway. Officers were informed of shots being fired inside the business. Officers engaged an armed subject at the door.  EMS transported the suspect to the hospital in critical condition.  Late Sunday police reported the suspect  died.

No citizens or officers were injured.  The Johnson County Officer-Involved Critical Incident Investigation Team is now in charge of the investigation.  Police have not reported additional details including  name of the suspect.
