COWLEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a hit-and-run accident that sent a Kansas driver to the hospital and asking for help to locate a vehicle involved.
Just before 7p.m. Monday, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an injury accident at the intersection of U.S. 77 Highway and 222nd Road in rural Cowley County, according to Sheriff Dave Faletti.
A 1992 blue Ford F-150, driven by Guadalupe Diaz, 61, of Winfield, was traveling northbound on U.S. 77 Highway when it was struck by a white Jeep, possibly a Wrangler, that crossed onto the highway from 222nd Road.
The white Jeep left the scene following the collision, and the driver has not been identified. Diaz was transported by EagleMed to Wesley Medical Center. The sheriff did not have details on the extent of his injuries.
The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information regarding the white Jeep, its owner, or the driver involved in the collision to contact Undersheriff Christina McDonald at 620-221-5444.
