SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a deadly hit-and-run have identified the victim as 31-year-old 31-year-old Pedro Bautista, of Wichita.
Just after 10:30 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the area of 13th and Mosely in Wichita for a report of an assault call, according to Officer Kris Gupilan.
First responders located Bautista who was unconscious, had injuries and was lying on the sidewalk. Fire and EMS administered life-saving measures, but he was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Investigators from the Wichita Police Department Accident Follow-up Section and the Critical Accident Team responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed a motor vehicle struck Bautista. Police reported on Monday afternoon they had located the vehicle, according to Gupilan.
The circumstances leading up to the collision are still under investigation. Police released no additional details and have not reported the type of vehicle involved or an arrest.
