Man dead, Kan. woman injured after SUV, Jeep crash

BOURBON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 7p.m. Wednesday in Bourbon County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Toyota Rav4 driven by Rebecca L. Shinn, 75, Uniontown, was eastbound on U.S. 54 Highway at the Kansas 3 Junction..

The driver failed to yield to a westbound 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by  Heath A. Baker,  35, Nevada, Missouri, while making a left turn south onto K3 Highway.  The Jeep struck the  Toyota.

A passenger in the Jeep identified as Nathaniel N. Morehead, 44, Milan, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Cheney WItt Funeral Home.

EMS transported Shinn to Via Christi in Pittsburg and Baker to St. Luke's Hospital. One juvenile was present in the Jeep; juvenile record protected data. Baker and Morehead were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
