SEDGWICK COUNTY —Three people avoided injured in a small plane incident just before 1p.m. Wednesday in Wichita.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a fixed-wing single-engine Cessna 210 piloted by Lee S.&nbsp;McLeod, 42, Anaheim, California, departed Eisenhower Airport. 

The aircraft experienced power failure, according to airport officials. The cotrol tower reported seeing smoke coming from the engine.&nbsp;

 The aircraft went down in a field north of the east airport runway. McLeod and two passengers from Kansas were not injured. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
