KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Monday morning homicide near the Kansas City Power and Light District.
Just before 1a.m., police responded to report of a shooting near Truman Road and Grand Boulevard, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte'.
First responders found a man on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot trauma. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Police also found two other shooting victims in a parking area behind a business. The two women were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Since there was a large crowd on the scene, police are hopeful someone may have information leading to an arrest.
Detectives were on the scene to gather evidence, talk with witnesses and review surveillance footage. Anyone who may have information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS.
