LOGAN COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 7p.m. Saturday in Logan County.
The Kansas. Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Chevy Tahoe driven by Maynard K. Unruh, 68, Oakley, was eastbound on Apache Acre at County Road 430 two miles south of Oakley. The SUV and a northbound 1989 Peterbilt semi driven by Cody D. Smith 15, Oakley, collided in the intersection and entered the east ditch. The SUV rotated, rolled and came to rest on County Road 430.
EMS transported Unruh to the Logan County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Smith was not injured. Both drivers were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
