Police: Man shot while attempting to kick in door of Kan. home

JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting at a home in Johnson County.

Just before 10a.m. Thursday, police responded to a disturbance at a home in the 13500 block of W. 90th Place in Lenexa, according to a media release

According to a 911 caller, a man was trying to kick in the front door of the residence. Before officers arrived, the 911 caller updated that another man shot the individual who was trying to kick in the door.

When officers arrived, they located three involved individuals, all adults, outside of the home. Officers performed first aid measures on the man who had been shot until paramedics arrived. That man was then taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooter and the woman 911 caller were transported to the Lenexa Police Station to interview with detectives. Those two individuals were later released.

A further investigation indicates that all involved parties are known to one another and live at this residence.

Upon the completion of the investigation, this case will be forwarded to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office for review of possible charges.
