SUMNER COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating after items reported found on a playground that could cause serious injury to children.
On Saturday, police reported a citizen found pieces of a broken single edge razor blade and kitchen shears at the park for small children located at Watson Park, 500 North Logan Street in Belle Plaine, according to a social media report from Police Chief Bill Berry.
The items were said to be in the sand at the end of the slide where a child would end up after coming down the slide.
The citizens told police the shears had the handles down in the sand with the pointed ends sticking up, which could have impaled a child.
"Please check the play areas if you take your kiddos to play in any park. Please share with your friends and family." If anyone knows anything about this please share with an officer.
