SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a. homicide in Topeka have identified the victim as 33-year-old Gabriel Martinez-Meraz of Topeka.
Just after 4a.m. Thursday, police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of SE 12th Street in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Edward Stanley.
Officers located Martinez-Meraz of Topeka. suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police have released no suspect information or additional details
