GRANT COUNTY —Law enforcement and officials with USD 214 Ulysses are investigating a gun at the middle school in Ulysses.
School district officials notified the Ulysses police department of a staff member in possession of a gun at Kepley Middle School, 113 N Colorado Street in Ulysses, according to Police Chief Ron Vagher.
Police responded to the school and worked with the cooperation of USD 214 officials to identify, interview and take a person of interest into custody. Police also recovered a firearm.
This incident is separate from a reported school threat on Thursday. Ulysses police are investigating both. Police will release the name of the person of interest after formal charges are filed.
