Driver dead, 2 hospitalized after crash with a semi on I-70

SALINE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 11:30p.m. Sunday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by Michael D Fussell, 42, Roanoke, Virginia, was  eastbound on Interstate 70 just east of the Brookville-Tescott exit twelve miles west of Salina.

 The car crossed the center median and struck a westbound Volvo semi driven by Brandon D. Allen, 33, Chicago, Illinois.

Fussell was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Ryan's Mortuary. EMS transported Allen and a passenger Victor A.  Concepcion, 28, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Salina Regional Health Center. Fussell was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

Interstate 70 westbound, between U.S. 81 and Lincoln County Line/Saline County Line was closed until just after 8a.m. due to the crash. Click KanDrive for updates.
