One suspect captured after Kansas high-speed pursuit

LEAVENWORTH COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities captured one suspect after a high-speed chase in Leavenworth County.

A pursuit was initiated in Tonganoxie, reference a vehicle that failed to yield on traffic issues, according to Leavenworth County Undersheriff Major James Sherley.

Law enforcement lost sight of the subject's vehicle and it was soon  located near Basehor, Kansas.

Deputies pursued the vehicle into Wyandotte County where the car struck a curb and became disabled. Several subjects ran from the vehicle. Deputies took one subject into custody and looked for the others with the help of Kansas City Kansas police and Bonner Springs PD K-9.  

Charges are referred to the Leavenworth County Attorney’s office. The name of the suspect has not been released.
