SEDGWICK COUNTY —A man arrested after a two hour standoff at a Wichita apartment complex made his first court appearance in the case on Monday.

Jonathan Ross, 41, Wichita, is charged with aggravated criminal threat, two counts of aggravated assault, criminal threat, domestic battery, and two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm in a city, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. The last three charges are misdemeanors.

Just before 1p.m. June 12, police responded to an apartment building in the 600 block of E Douglas in Wichita.  A woman told officers she was assaulted and threatened with a weapon by a man she lived with.

The man, later identified as 41-year-old Jonathan Ross refused to come out of the apartment.

At 3 p.m., the Wichita Police SWAT team arrived and began negotiations. All businesses and apartments in the area were evacuated and vehicle and pedestrian traffic was closed in the area.  Two hours later, police arrested Ross.

Ross remains jailed on a $125,000 bond, according to the district attorney's office.
