Sheriff: Kansas woman without a license was transporting meth

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. –Law enforcement are investigating a woman on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.

Just before 9a.m. June 6, a Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Lexus RX after determining the driver was operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

During the traffic stop, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle for illegal drugs and narcotics. The driver was identified as Ashanti Lashay Hernandez, 34, of Topeka. The search resulted in the discovery of suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on the requested charges of  Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of ecstasy, Possession of marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Driving while suspended, Driving while declared a habitual violator and No proof of insurance
