SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that seriously injured a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old from Wichita.
just before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to a shooting call at the intersection of 15th Street North and Poplar Avenue in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
First responders located the 15-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and the 14-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his right upper leg. EMS transported both victims to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims underwent surgery and are in stable condition.
Detectives are still working to fully determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and have not reported an arrest.
