KHP investigating: Subject of Silver Alert found deceased

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities canceled a Silver Alert issued Sunday for a missing Kansas man. On Tuesday, 67-year-old Steven Trahoon was located south of Topeka on Interstate 35, near the Melvern exit, according to Police Captain Edward Stanley.

Medical personell pronounced Trahoon deceased at the scene and his family was notified. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities in Topeka have issued a Silver Alert for a missing Kansas man.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 67-year-old Steven Trahoon who may be suffering from symptoms of significant health issues. 

Steven was last seen around SW 26th Terrace and SW Westport Drive around 6:30 p.m. on September 16. He was last seen driving away in a Blue Honda Fit with Kansas license plate 737 NJU.

He is described as Caucasian male around 6-foot-4, 190 pounds with brown hair and  brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a maroon long sleeve shirt and black slacks.
