KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man faces multiple felony charges in connection with the Nov. 18, fatal shooting of another man outside a KC residence following a conflict, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Gabriel B. Eredia, 45, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court records, police responded on Nov. 18, to the sound of gunfire in Kansas City. They were unable initially to locate a crime scene. Several minutes later, officers were dispatched to a person who was found shot outside a residence.
A witness identified the Eredia who was a federally convicted felon and prohibited from carrying a firearm, as the person who was in the yard with the victim when shots rang out. The defendant's DNA was found on spent shell casings at the crime scene.
