Man charged in KC hit-and-run that left bicyclist dead

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash have identified the bicyclist who died as 31-year-old Rick D. Snow, according to KCPD Captain Corey Carlisle.

On Sunday a Ford F150 driven by 41-year-old Brian Zug of St. Joseph was southbound on North Oak Trafficway near 82nd Street. and struck a bicycle driven by Snow, according to Carlisle.

Snow, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup did not stop.

Police located the pickup near 79th Street and took Zug into custody on a requested charge of DWI. 

The Clay County, Missouri, Prosecutor's Office has charged Zug  with felony leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and felony DWI-death of another, according to online jail records.
